Focus on what counts

Centuries-old tool proven to improve your child’s ability to focus.

  • Backed by science: long-term abacus mental calculation (AMC) training not only improves arithmetic ability but also has a positive effect on memory and ability to focus.

  • The Abacus is known to help stimulate brain activities, which leads to a break in anxiety levels.

  • Our program is created by the world’s foremost expert in AMC, Master Jeonghee Lee

How it works

  1. An abacus is like a manual calculator that has sliding beads that represent numbers.

  2. With practice, students will replace the physical abacus and learn to manipulate imaginary abacus beads in their minds by moving fingers in the air.

  3. By simultaneously engaging visual, tactile, and auditory learning modalities, our program develops both sides of the brain which in turn strengthens the frontal cortex, the part of the brain that informs executive functions (i.e ability to focus).

Abacus mental calculation (AMC) training has been found to produce functional and structural changes in the brain that accounts for behavioral improvements in cognitive function.

Meet Master Jeonghee Lee

- the world #1 abacus mental mathematician

Born and raised in South Korea, Master Lee is the world’s #1 mathematician and abacus master. As the highest ranked mental mathematician in the world, Lee reached the highest degree in abacus math (the 11th degree) and has been the only known person to do so. Lee co-founded Abakidz by Tactile Brain in 2015, a tactile learning center that teaches children to use the abacus for mental math, while boosting their confidence, concentration, focus and memory.

Master Lee is passionate about sharing her gift with others. Now, her life centers around teaching children everything from basic mathematics to high levels of mental math. Lee also spends much of her time sharing her talents and methods with other teachers as well—she heavily prioritizes spreading knowledge to others in order to teach children all over the world.
